In Iran discovered 760 promising deposits of metals
the head of the Iranian organization for development and renovation of mines and mining industries (IMIDRO) announced that his organization was able to identify more than 760 new and promising mineral areas throughout the country, the newspaper reports IRIB on Monday.
"With the new discoveries, the total area of the zones of investigation IMIDRO has reached 650 000 square kilometers," said khodadad's Garibpur.
In addition to the implementation of their own programs of exploration, IMIDRO also collaborates with the private sector in several projects of exploration, he added.
According to officials, IMIDRO has registered applications for licenses for 270 plots new areas of exploration, and at the moment of the exploration license was issued on 52 plots, including areas of mining lead, zinc, gold, copper, iron, coal, chromite, antimony and other rare earth elements.
He noted that in the framework of the Sixth national five-year development plan (2016-2021 years) great importance is attached to efficiency, productivity and maximum utilization of capacity of the mining industry of the country, and this should be considered at every stage, from exploration to production processes.
In August of 2019, the head of IMIDRO announced that exploration work carried out on 300 000 square kilometers of land.
In September 2019 IMIDRO held in Tehran conference on development, opportunities and challenges Iran in the field of exploration and production of minerals, to encourage the private sector to make a greater contribution to the mining sector of the country.
Garibpur said that the new exploration work is carried out by a consortium of IMIDRO and the largest mining companies in the country.
Recall that in January, the United States imposed a new package of sanctions against Iran, aimed at its metals and mining sector. "As a result of these actions, we stop supporting the Iranian regime with billions of dollars," said then US Secretary of state Mike Pompeo.
