VostGOK and Energoatom reach an agreement to extend the operation of uranium mines
According to the acting General Director of SE "VostGOK" Anton Bendikov, today, on April 8, a joint meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine Igor Petrashko with the participation of representatives of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, the Ministry of Energy, the leadership of SE "VostGOK" and SE "NAEK" Energoatom ".
As a result of discussion of further cooperation between the two state-owned enterprises, an agreement was reached on signing a short-term agreement for 3 months, which provides for the sale of uranium oxide concentrate at the price of 2020.
This will allow not to stop the enterprise, continue the stable work of SE "VostGOK" and during this period make appropriate decisions at the state level, which will allow further cooperation of both enterprises on economically beneficial terms, the press service of SE "VostGOK" noted .
Recall that on April 5, 2021, the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denis Shmigal instructed the Minister of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture Igor Petrashko and acting Minister of Energy Yuriy Vitrenko, to prepare and submit by April 7 to the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine a draft Memorandum between State Enterprise "NNEGC" Energoatom "and State Enterprise" VostGOK "on the integration of the Eastern Mining and Processing Plant into the structure of Energoatom.
This document should also contain the essential terms of the contract for the supply of uranium oxide concentrate, which should be concluded between NAEK and VostGOK for the period until the integration procedure is fully completed.
