Ferrexpo Increases Quarterly Iron Ore Pellet Production
Ferrexpo's total iron ore pellet production was 2.8 Mt in Q2 2021, up 5% QoQ and 0.8% YoY.
Production of high quality pellets (65% Fe and 67% Fe) accounted for 100% of Ferrexpo's total pellet production in Q2 2021 (Q2 2020: 99%).
The Group continues to develop its offer of 67% Fe direct reduction (DR) pellets, which represent the path to low carbon steel production.
In the first half of 2021, Ferrexpo signed its first long-term contract for the supply of DR pellets with further trial deliveries and samples sent for testing to additional potential customers.
Ferrexpo's total sales in 1H 2021 were 5.6 million tonnes, down 9% YoY as a result of inventory reduction in 1H 2020.
