Eastern ore mining and processing plant became an energy trader
The State Enterprise "Vostochny Mining and Processing Plant" (SE "VostGOK") received a license for the right to carry out economic activities for the resale of electricity (trading activities). The corresponding decree No. 1303 of the National Commission for State Regulation in the Spheres of Energy and Utilities was adopted on 11.08.2021 and published on the official website of the regulator on 12.08.2021.
“Now our company buys electricity in the retail market from a supplier,” said Eduard Kleopa, chief power engineer of SE VostGOK. - To enter the wholesale electricity market in Ukraine and be able to buy it on favorable terms from producers, you need to draw up a number of documents. One of the important steps on this path was obtaining a license for the resale of electricity. ”
A feature of the plant's production activities is the need for constant adjustments to the volumes of electricity consumption. There is often an imbalance between the forecast and the fact of consumption. And the license obtained will allow you to sell unused electricity or buy additional kilowatts, which are not enough.
The purchase of energy resources on favorable terms can become one of the factors in reducing the cost of the company's finished products, noted in VostGOK.
