The only uranium mining enterprise in Ukraine reduced the production of uranium concentrate by 44.2%
The State Enterprise "Vostochny Mining and Processing Plant" (SE "VostGOK") in January-August 2021 compared to the same period in 2020 reduced the production of uranium oxide concentrate by 44.2% - to 280.1 tons. This is evidenced by the data published on Monday by the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine.
During the same period, the company reduced uranium ore mining by 17.8% - to 276.3 thousand tons. At the same time, the cost of uranium concentrate in January-August 2021 compared to the same period last year decreased by 40.4% - from UAH 1,369 million to UAH 815.8 million.
As previously reported, Vostochny Ore Mining and Processing Plant in the first half of 2021, compared to the same period in 2020, reduced the production of uranium oxide concentrate by 45% - to 227.8 tons, the total cost of the produced concentrate decreased by 40 % - up to UAH 663 million.
SE "Vostochny Ore Mining and Processing Plant" is a mining and processing plant in the city of Zheltye Vody, the only enterprise in Ukraine that ensures the extraction of natural uranium and the production of its oxide concentrate.
