TMK discussed the risks of introducing AI technologies at INNOPROM

Pipe Metallurgical Company (TMK) at the International Industrial Exhibition INNOPROM-2026 discussed the problems of introducing artificial intelligence (AI) technologies at enterprises and security issues related to its use.

Speaking at the session "Trust cannot be verified: we put a comma in the security of industrial AI," Dmitry Yakob, TMK's Deputy General Director for Information Technology, noted that the company has acquired significant competencies in implementing AI in business processes and at the same time understands the risks that arise in this regard.

"Machine learning and computer vision are used at different stages of the production chain, from analyzing raw materials and selecting the optimal composition and mode of steel smelting to quality control of finished products. The company uses generative artificial intelligence in support, administrative processes, where it is a question of servicing a large number of users. At the same time, the main economic effect is achieved in the production segment, where the cost of production is formed," said Dmitry Jacob.

He also touched upon the problem of the development of AI agents - autonomous systems that perform tasks without constant human control. According to him, at the moment, the general issues of integrating such virtual employees into the digital landscape of organizations have not been resolved. "There are a number of nuances here. For example, which account should I provide to the agent? Is he a user? Sustainable industry practices have not yet been formed on this and other topics," he said.

At the same time, he stressed that the use of AI agents by cybercriminals creates a new reality for cybersecurity teams. "The bill runs for minutes, you need to update programs and settings instantly, and react instantly. To counter this threat, it is necessary to establish a constructive inter—sectoral dialogue at all levels," Dmitry Yakob said.
