The Cherepovets Metallurgical Combine (CherMK) (part of Severstal) has completed equipping the chimney in the sintering workshop No. 2 with an automatic emission control system. To date, this is the eighteenth system installed at the enterprise. This was reported in the press service of Severstal.

Previously, SAKS were installed in coke and steelmaking plants, as well as in the production of energy resources. The equipment allows you to monitor the amount of emissions online, including priority pollutants (sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, suspended solids), continuously transmitting data to the supervisory authorities. The systems also record the temperature, pressure and humidity of the exhaust gases.
"We strive for maximum transparency and openness, especially in matters affecting the environmental well-being of the cities of our presence. 18 automatic control systems at CherMK continuously transmit data on the operation of CherMK units to government agencies, ensuring objective external control of our activities. Severstal's investments in this project have exceeded 1 billion rubles," commented Evgeny Vinogradov, General Director of the Severstal Russian Steel Division and Resource Assets.Representatives of FSUE VNIIM named after Mendeleev conducted an initial audit of the SAC with the results being entered into the register of the Federal State Information System "Arshin". In conclusion, Rosprirodnadzor specialists carried out the acceptance of SAKS into commercial operation in the sintering workshop. AR augmented reality glasses designed for remote inspection of facilities were used during the acceptance process.
The installation of automatic control systems continues at the company's facilities. After the reconstruction of the equipment, such systems will be installed on three lime production units in strict accordance with the obligations assumed to comply with the requirements of environmental legislation.
