The introduction of a Truck Tax Law in the Netherlands will lead to additional transportation costs for Dutch and foreign trucks when passing through the country.

A Euro 5 category charges a fee of 0.236 euros/km (0.30 USD) in accordance with European emission standards. The toll is collected on highways, as well as on some provincial and municipal roads. Each truck must have its own toll collection point on board, which operates in the Netherlands.
The National Federation of Steel Distributors Staalfederatie drew the attention of its members to the fact that the introduction of the fee will affect logistics processes, transport tariffs and cost calculations in the steel industry.
