China will supply stainless steel cases for iPhone 16
According to The Wall Street Journal, the battery case for the iPhone 16 series will be changed from aluminum-plastic material to stainless steel using materials supplied by Chinese firms.
The WSJ report suggests that the all-steel case will use laser welding technology to increase battery life by increasing the number of charge cycles.
Previously, sources reported changes in battery capacity for iPhone 16 series models, as reported by local media outlet IThome. The capacity of the standard iPhone 16 could increase from the last generation's 3,349 mAh to 3,561 mAh, while the Pro Max version is expected to increase capacity from the previous 4,422 mAh to 4,676 mAh. However, the Plus model may shrink from the previous 4,383 mAh to 4,006 mAh. At this time, it remains unclear whether the changes in battery capacity are due to changes in the battery case.
Based on previously released model photos, Apple's iPhone 16 and 16 Plus will feature dual cameras arranged vertically, while the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max will retain the three-camera setup like previous models.
The size of the new generation iPhone16 Pro will also entail changes:
- iPhone 15 Pro: 6.12 inches
- iPhone 15 Pro Max: 6. 69 inches
- iPhone 16 Pro : 6.27 inches
- iPhone 16 Pro Max : 6.86 inches
