Biden proposed $ 1.9 trillion stimulus plan

US President-elect Joe Biden has prepared a $ 1.9 trillion stimulus plan. It contains measures to support citizens and businesses. During the election campaign, Mr. Biden promised to strengthen the fight against the consequences of the pandemic.

According to Reuters, the plan includes:

  • $ 415 billion to fight the pandemic and vaccinations;
  • $ 1 trillion in direct aid to households;
  • $ 440 billion to support small business organizations hardest hit by the pandemic.

Americans are offered to pay $ 1.4 thousand per taxpayer in addition to the already approved $ 600. Thus, direct payments for December-January will amount to $ 2 thousand, and from the beginning of the pandemic - $ 3.2 thousand. Additional unemployment insurance will be increased from $ 300 per week to $ 400 per week.

The United States is in first place in terms of the number of people infected with coronavirus. The country has 23.2 million COVID-19 cases, according to Johns Hopkins University.
