The Federation Council of the Russian Federation was shocked by the lack of production of nails in the country

Speaker of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko said that she was very surprised by the lack of Russian production of steel nails. She stated that import substitution has not yet been successful in this area, and called for small and medium-sized businesses to be involved in the production of nails.

“It was a kind of discovery for me - we have imported nails, I won’t name the country (where the import comes from), guess three times. We don’t even produce nails in a country that produces so much metal,” Matvienko said at a meeting of the Federation Council.

Small and medium-sized businesses will be able to solve this problem, according to the speaker of the Federation Council.

“This is a small example of how much we could do and don't do. It is clear that no country can produce everything. But now we need to build up our muscles and move forward faster,” she said.
