Austria stops importing and refining Russian oil – OMV

Austria has completely stopped importing and refining Russian oil, according to the Austrian oil and gas company OMV.

“Oil supplies from Russia have always been low, but with the start of the war we replaced it with other oil from the market,” said an OMV spokesman.

The main supplier of oil for Austria is Kazakhstan, whose import share has recently been 38.9%. Libya is in second and third place with 22.1% and Iraq with 20.7%.

Even at the end of March, the Austrian authorities opposed the embargo on oil and gas supplies from Russia, in particular, Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer.
