Three miners died under mysterious circumstances at the Gaisky GOK in the Orenburg region of the Russian Federation
April 23, at 08:30 Moscow time, at the Gaisky Mining and Processing Plant (GOK) of the Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company, three workers of an underground mine were found without signs of life upon arrival at a horizon of 1205 meters.
According to the press service of the GOK, the bodies have no external damage. Mine rescuers are currently working at the site. The circumstances and causes of the incident will be established by a specially created commission.
The GOK administration promised to provide full assistance to law enforcement and supervisory authorities. The management of the enterprise also expressed condolences to the relatives of the victims and will provide them with the necessary assistance.
According to an informed source, there was no explosion and subsequent evacuation of workers.
By order of Rostekhnadzor, blasting at the horizon of 1205 meters was stopped.
The investigating authorities of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Orenburg Region initiated a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 3 of Art. 216 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (violation of safety rules during work, which negligently resulted in the death of two or more persons).
Investigators of the Russian Investigative Committee are working at the scene. As part of the investigation of a criminal case, they carry out investigative and procedural actions aimed at an objective and comprehensive establishment of the circumstances of the incident.
