Denis Novozhenov, Vice President of Evraz and head of the Ural division, told about the company's plans at the Innoprom exhibition, Kommersant Ural writes.

The updated biochemical plant will reduce aromatic emissions by 90%. According to the company, the settling tanks and pools will be sheltered and equipped with hoods, and after use, the adsorption carbon filters will be reused in coke production, which will ensure complete recycling.

"The BHU technical re—equipment project is important for the plant's employees and citizens, because it not only reduces the environmental burden, but also practically removes the unpleasant aromatics inherent in individual coke production processes," commented Denis Novozhenov.

He noted that Evraz NTMK has already completed six of the nine air protection measures under the federal program, having invested more than 6.36 billion rubles. Thanks to these measures, emissions of pollutants decreased by 7.9 thousand tons.
