Mikhailovsky GBZH started building a hot briquetted iron plant in the Kursk region for 80 billion rubles

It is planned to launch the plant in Zheleznogorsk in 2028.

The raw materials for the production of HBI will be pellets from the Mikhailovsky GOK pelletizing plant located next door.

The plant will be built using modern technologies using "green" metallurgy, taking care of the environment. The company will create more than 400 jobs, said the head of the region, Alexander Khinstein.

The project was announced back in 2021.

Mikhailovsky GOK named after A. V. Varichev is one of the largest iron ore mining and processing enterprises in Russia and the CIS. The company conducts open-pit mining of an iron ore deposit. The main types of its marketable products are sintering ore, iron ore concentrate, unfused and flushed pellets.
