"Tambov Foundry Technologies" expand production with the help of regional FRP

The company has mastered the production of cast iron products for the needs of Russian Railways. This is the second investment project to expand production.

Under a loan agreement with the Fund in the amount of 41 million rubles, the plant is preparing to install a highly efficient melting furnace for smelting gray cast iron and steel with a capacity of 1.5 tons per cycle.

This will be the third melting furnace at the enterprise. The total investment in the project, including own funds, will amount to 52 million rubles.

In 2023, a machining workshop was equipped with a loan of 15 million rubles from the FRP, where universal lathes, milling and drilling machines with numerical control (CNC) were installed.

Alexey Kosherenkov, the company's general director, said that state support allowed the company to increase production volumes to 800 tons of high-quality castings per month, ensuring annual production of over 7.5 thousand tons of products with an assortment of more than 40 items. This contributes to successful competition in the market, and all products are in demand. Almost 95% of the volume goes to the needs of Russian Railways - components for locomotives, freight and passenger cars. Small volumes (5%) are occupied by individual orders.

Railway scrap metal and Russian-made metal are used as raw materials for production. Cast iron components began to be produced only this year, having mastered the casting of gray cast iron.

Today, the plant employs more than 200 people. The company has created conditions for the training of in-demand personnel based on the mentoring principle, since it is extremely difficult to find ready-made specialists in the foundry industry.

The quality of finished products is evaluated in our own accredited testing laboratory, which is equipped with modern equipment for complex metal analysis: determination of chemical composition, strength and ductility of metal.
