Zlatoust Metallurgical Plant has launched an electric arc furnace after major repairs
The DSV-10 No. 15 furnace is used at a plant in the Chelyabinsk region for smelting structural and tool grades of steel.

During the repair, hydraulic cylinders responsible for precise and smooth tilting and rolling out of the furnace were replaced, and work was carried out to strengthen and modernize metal structures that carry a volumetric load.
The plant's specialists paid special attention to the renovation of fixed and movable beams, which are the basis of the mechanism for moving the furnace bath. The roll bar upgrade has also become an important part of the renovation to improve the overall performance and reliability of the equipment.
The repair also affected the water-cooled elements of the furnace, which ensure the stability of the temperature regime. The furnace lining has been replaced: now its base and walls are made of modern, wear-resistant materials, and a new one has been installed in place of the old vault, which will increase heat transfer efficiency, reduce heat loss and prolong the life of the furnace.
