Chelyabinsk industrial group Konar has mastered the production of a cryogenic rotary pipeline butterfly valve

A three-eccentric shutter with an upper inspection hatch allows for routine repairs and maintenance of the product without the need to remove it from the pipeline. Previously, such valves were mainly purchased abroad.

The valve can operate at temperatures up to minus 196 degrees Celsius and is used in gas processing plants, liquefied natural gas plants, including floating ones, as well as tankers for the transportation of liquefied natural gas.

The tests were successfully carried out, patents were obtained, the necessary certificates and permits were issued, said Pavel Dorofeev, Executive Director of Konar-Orion.

"In the near future, we plan to ship our cryogenic fittings to Gazprom facilities such as the Baltic Gas Processing Complex in Ust-Luga, Sakhalin-2 and LNG Portovaya."

The company presented a prototype at the St. Petersburg International Gas Forum-2025. The sample was developed as part of an R&D agreement with the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade.
