The first ton of polyester fiber (dacron) in the country was produced at Kurskkhimvolokno in June 1960. A landmark stage for the company was in 2007, when it entered the production and raw material chain of Tolyatti Joint Stock Company KuibyshevAzot, the largest domestic producer of caprolactam and polyamide, as well as a key player in the global chemical market. This cooperation has significantly expanded the technological and resource capabilities of the plant.

Gennady Babaskin, Acting Deputy Governor of the Kursk Region, noted:

"Since then, the company has been dynamically developing and modernizing. A striking example is today's launch of six new high—tech, high-speed molding machines. They will ensure the production of 3,000 tons of new products worth more than 1 billion rubles, replenishment of the budget by 150 million rubles in taxes and the creation of 61 jobs. It's worth a lot."

Today, Kurskkhimvolokno is the largest manufacturer of polyamide yarns in Russia and the CIS. The company has carried out a large-scale reconstruction of workshops with a complete replacement of equipment, introduced fundamentally new technologies for the production of chemical fibers, and the implementation of its own Development Program has allowed it to reach the level of world quality standards.

Alexey Dadanov, Chief Engineer of PJSC KuibyshevAzot, added:

"We have been going hand in hand for 20 years, and these are far from the first joint projects. One of them, the most recent, is the ceremonial commissioning of molding machines today. This gives us full confidence in our good future. Investments will continue with the support of the company's management. It's probably not so much about import substitution as about the development of our own production chains."

In 2024, a new twisting and turning complex was introduced at the plant, and the total equipment fleet has been replenished with 140 units of new equipment in recent years. A special emphasis is placed on import substitution: production has been switched to Russian raw materials, new types of products are being developed, such as pneumotextured ATY yarns, similar in properties to cotton or wool. The new complex of molding machines takes into account the wishes of customers and allows them to work with two types of polymers. This makes production independent of fluctuations in the foreign market, exchange rates, and other external factors. The implementation of this complex was completed as soon as possible.
