For the first time, Severstal will supply large-diameter pipes for the construction of a subway in St. Petersburg

The pipes are used to install column supports in the lobby area of the Kamenka station under construction on the Nevsko-Vasileostrovskaya line.

The pipes were produced in the large-diameter pipe production workshop at the Kolpino production site of Severstal by order of the construction company Metrostroy of the Northern Capital.

The project provides for the supply of pipes with a diameter of 630 mm and a wall thickness of 16 mm. The length of the pipes is 16 m. This will eliminate the annular weld and make the structure more reliable. The pipes are shipped according to the schedule agreed with the customer.

For the first time, Severstal joined such a project with the supply of large-diameter pipes for the construction of the subway. This experience was an important step for us and opened up new opportunities for working with infrastructure orders, said Stanislav Zayets, Manager of the Directorate for Work with Energy Companies and Infrastructure Projects at Severstal.
