Chelyabinsk Metallurgical Plant, under a contract with Russian Railways, began shipping 100-meter railway rails to the Volga Federal District
The contract provides for the supply of 174 thousand tons of rolled rails by the end of 2026, which includes differentially heat-strengthened rails P65 – 25 m and 100 m long.

Such products are designed for operation in difficult conditions on tracks with heavy loads, as well as on lines with high-speed and combined traffic. In addition, OR65 sharp rails will be shipped for switch factories, from which switches will be made.
The first deliveries under the contract took place in February and included 25-meter rails DT 350 R65 and NT260 R65.
Rails with a length of 100 meters are used to lay a seamless track, which is also called "velvet". This design of the railway track ensures smooth running, reduces wear on wheels and rails, reduces noise and allows trains to reach higher speeds.
