The new facilities will be located on the territory of the future Izhevsk special Economic Zone. The application for its creation is currently under consideration by the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation. SEZ resident status will give entrepreneurs tax benefits and access to ready-made infrastructure. The aim of the project is to localize automotive components and replace imported products.

Brechalov noted that over the past five years, Udmurtia's manufacturing sector has grown four times faster than the national average, adding 27%. In 2025, the volume of vehicles and equipment produced was 1.3 times higher than a year earlier. The head of the republic believes that this proves the relevance of new production and the importance of working on our own components instead of purchasing abroad or in neighboring regions.

NPP "Izhevsk Hardware Plant has been operating since 2015. It produces calibrated high-precision metal products that meet Russian standards. The main customers are manufacturers of cars and agricultural machinery from Russia and Belarus. The production of components for the automotive industry and railway transport has already been established at the site. The company enjoys government support: grants, subsidies, and concessional financing.

As part of the agreement, the company will expand production and master the production of new metal products for Russia, and then move on to full-fledged localization. According to Ryabov, this is extremely important in the context of sanctions. Research and development work is underway on the project, equipment is being finalized, and prototypes have been sent for testing. The project will take two years to complete. The development of production corresponds to the goals of the national project "Efficient and Competitive Economy" and strengthens the technological independence of the domestic engineering industry.
