Gazprom and Naftogaz sign agreement on gas transit for five years – all the details of the document
the contract for the transit of Russian gas to Europe via Ukraine will be signed for five years, reported Russian media, citing a source in "Gazprom". The report States that the contract involves transit of gas in 2020 to 65 billion cubic meters, and in 2021-2024 years — 40 billion cubic meters per year.
"With "Operator GTS of Ukraine", "Gazprom" will sign the interconnection agreement, and the NJSC "Naftogaz of Ukraine" — transport agreement on reservation of capacities of Ukraine's GTS. "Naftogaz" will act as the company-organizer of transit, thereby taking the risks of the transitional period," - said the head of Gazprom Alexey Miller.
According to the Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak, participated in the negotiations, the document also includes agreement on settlement of mutual claims. "Russia and Ukraine settle mutual claims on gas, more lawsuits and disputes will not," he confirmed.
Agreement on the transit of gas between "Gazprom" and "Naftogaz", which concluded the company provide "payment on the final decision of the Stockholm arbitration".
Trilateral gas talks involving representatives of the EU took place on 20 December in Minsk. From "Gazprom" in which took part the Chairman of the Board of the company Alexey Miller. On the eve of the talks in Berlin agreed a Protocol on a whole range of issues in the gas sector. It was reported that he had to be approved at the highest level.
