Oleg Deripaska said that Russia should make, not to be ashamed in front of Ukraine
Reduction by the Bank of Russia key rate to 4% and announced the implementation of new government measures will allow the Russian economy again, "not to sink into the swamp," says billionaire Oleg Deripaska. Earlier, the Russian entrepreneur named Central Bank responsible for the six-year stagnation of the economy.
"the Speedy reduction of the key rate to 4% will balance the Russian financial market <...> All this, coupled with other measures announced in the economic block of the government, will allow us to see growth in the area of 4.5% to at least not be ashamed to Ukraine. Otherwise we'll sink in the swamp," wrote in the Telegram Mr. Deripaska.
According to the businessman, the reduction of the key rate to 4% will remove unnecessary pressure on the ruble and return it in the range of 65-68 rubles per dollar. Now the key rate is 6.25%. Last year it was five times by the regulator.
the U.S. Treasury has made Deripaska together with his major companies (UC Rusal, En+ and "EvroSibEnergo" group "GAS" and so on.) in the sanctions list SDN (Specially Designated Nationals) in April 2018. But in early 2019, the Agency has agreed to lift sanctions against UC Rusal and En+, with condition for the reduction of the share of Deripaska's below control, leaving the businessman on the SDN list. Since then, he delivers the petition to the Office of foreign assets control (OFAC) of the US Treasury Department about the lifting of sanctions. The last petition for the lifting of sanctions "in the administrative order" was filed June 27, 2019.
According to Forbes his fortune is on the end of 2019 $ 4.6 billion. Deripaska is confident that the U.S. sanctions against him were dropped this year. His confidence is based on the fact that the sanctions were originally "nonsense, and the more disclosed the materials on which the charges are based, the more it becomes obvious."
this year Deripaska has returned to Davos after a two-year pause. In between skiing, the businessman gave an interview to Bloomberg, which suggested that the headquarters of the United Nations in Switzerland to introduce a new tax on carbon dioxide emissions. He also accused the Central Bank of Russia in the destruction of 2.5 million jobs, commenting thus the President of the USA of Donald trump at the world economic forum.
