In 2020, Gazprom increased its proven gas reserves by 480 billion cubic meters
In 2020, on the territory of Russia, according to preliminary data, more than 5 thousand sq. km of seismic exploration using the 3D method, more than 57 thousand meters of rocks were drilled, including the construction of technically complex wells up to 4.5 thousand meters deep. As a result of these works, the increase in gas reserves amounted to more than 480 billion cubic meters. m and significantly exceeded production (452.6 billion cubic meters. m). Thus, over the past 16 years, Gazprom's gas reserves replacement ratio has been consistently above unity.
The main geological exploration work carried out by the company is concentrated in the Yamal Peninsula, in the East of Russia and the continental shelf.
In particular, in 2020, the resource base of the Yamal gas production center was increased - the 75 Let Pobedy field was discovered on the Priyamal shelf of the Kara Sea (gas reserves - 202.4 billion cubic meters). In addition, as a result of drilling an exploration well, new data were obtained, indicating that the productivity of the Leningradskoye field is much higher than expected. The company also continues to explore the reserves of the Yamal center's key fields - Bovanenkovskoye and Kharasaveyskoye, and is working to study the Tambeyskoye field.
As part of the development of the Yakutsk and the formation of the Irkutsk gas production centers, Gazprom is carrying out geological exploration at the Chayandinskoye and Kovyktinskoye fields.
To improve the efficiency of subsoil exploration, the company uses the latest technologies, including digital ones. They allow you to obtain better data and optimize production processes. Thus, the company is developing a unified information space for geological-geophysical and field information. It enables the specialists of PJSC Gazprom and its subsidiaries to comprehensively monitor and analyze the processes of research and development of fields throughout their entire life cycle.
