Metinvest to provide oxygen to hospitals in Kiev and Kharkiv region
In the first half of October, medical institutions in the Kharkiv region faced a shortage of oxygen: the main supplier began repairing equipment, and then the volume of supplies decreased from 40 to 20 tons per day. Oleksandr Skakun, Chairman of the Kharkiv Regional State Administration, appealed to the Metinvest management with a request to help supply oxygen to medical institutions in the region.
Metinvest quickly developed a schedule for the supply of oxygen, according to which hospitals in the Kharkiv region will receive 240 tons of oxygen from 18 to 28 October. The first 80 tons of oxygen have already been delivered to regional hospitals. Oxygen for the doctors of the Kharkiv region will be provided by the enterprises of the Group - Zaporizhstal, Dneprovsky Coke Plant and Azovstal.
In particular, Metinvest will supply 60 tons of oxygen to the Kharkiv City Clinical Multidisciplinary Hospital No. 17 and the Kharkiv Regional Clinical Specialized Dispensary for Radiation Protection of the Population, and the Kharkiv Regional Hospital of War Veterans, the Kharkiv Regional Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital and the Kupyansk Territorial Medical Association - 40 tons each .
The chief physician of the Kiev City Clinical Hospital No. 6, which also suffers from a lack of oxygen to treat patients with coronavirus, also turned to Metinvest. 60 tons of oxygen from Azovstal will be delivered to the hospital by the end of October.
In October, Metinvest enterprises have already supplied 120 tons of liquid oxygen to Moscow hospitals. In particular, the Kiev City Clinical Hospital No. 6, the Kiev City Clinical Hospital No. 1 and the Kiev Regional Clinical Hospital received assistance.
