Metinvest's training and reward systems are recognized as the best in Ukraine

The first in Ukraine non-state mining and metallurgical university Metinvest Polytechnic won in the "Training and Development" nomination, and the individual social package "My Choice" - in the "Reward and Recognition" nomination.

Why Metinvest Polytechnic

The new technical university in Mariupol will accept the first students in 2022. Teaching at the university will be 22 candidates and 12 doctors of science, as well as practitioners from the World Steel Association (worldsteel), the European Community for Safety at Work (ESOSH) and other international organizations.

Metinvest Polytechnic has developed modern educational programs and received the necessary licenses from the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. Technical education in accordance with international standards will receive 310 bachelors and 240 masters, who will be trained in the dual system of nine demanded specialties.

In the center of Mariupol, the construction of the educational building of the university continues according to the project of the Dutch bureau MASA Architects, architect Hiroki Matsuura. It will be a full-fledged European-level campus, which includes a hostel, sports infrastructure and a park.

Metinvest Polytechnic has already signed cooperation agreements with the Higher School of Occupational Safety Management in Katowice, the Berlin Academy of Raw Materials of the European Institute and Technologies, Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Chernihiv Polytechnic and Dnipro State Technical University. This will allow students to participate in exchange programs, access educational resources and qualify for dual degrees.

The university will create modern laboratories for students. Equipment and technologies will be provided by world leaders: Microsoft, Siemens, Schneider Electric, Honeywell Ukraine, Festo, UVEX and DEZEGA.

What's in the social package

The second winning project is an individual social package "My Choice", which is valid for more than 60 thousand employees of the main Ukrainian manufacturing enterprises and the IT company Metinvest Digital.

Each employee can choose from six options for an annual set of benefits: training and development, wellness, entertainment and recreation, vacations and weekends, transportation and travel, and other benefits for the families of employees.

Every year the list of options is updated and replenished in accordance with the requests of the team. For example, in 2022, summer vouchers abroad will appear in the social package for the first time.

Most recently, employees have chosen health insurance, monthly mobile top-ups, certificates for family and children's entertainment centers, package holidays and sports for the whole family.

The Ukrainian HR Pro Awards were established by the Ukrainian Association of HR Professionals (HR Pro) in 2021.

Its goal is to celebrate the team and personal achievements of representatives of the profession, which will help improve the level of professional practices existing in Ukraine.

More than 50 representatives of Ukrainian and international companies from different cities of Ukraine, who have been holding executive positions in the field of HR for more than five years, and HR specialists with an MBA degree, international certification or specialized education, became experts of the award.
