Purchase prices for scrap metal fell in Ukraine
Last week (December 3-10) metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine reduced purchase prices for scrap metal by 200 hryvnia - to 9050 hryvnia per ton. The prices of scrap collecting companies for grade 3 scrap in the regions were at the level of UAH 7.31-7.36 thousand per ton. The upper border of the price range prevails in the southeastern regions of the country.
Scrap supplies to metallurgical plants (December 2-8) decreased to 59.8 thousand tons. Last week (November 25 - December 1) there were 68.3 thousand tons. The demand for scrap was 58.5 thousand tons. The level of meeting the needs of metallurgical plants for scrap last week amounted to 103.3%.
Remains in ports
Scrap stocks in ports increased to 26.9 thousand tons. Last week it was 24.2 thousand tons.
Smelt Steel
Steel smelting on December 2-8 increased to 404 thousand tons. Last week (November 25 - December 1) there were 401 thousand tons.
Scrap stocks at enterprises
Remains of scrap in the warehouses of metallurgical plants increased to 203 thousand tons. Last week it was 192 thousand tons. Inventories in working days are 25 days, which is 2 times higher than the standard value. The highest reserves as of December 8 were at MMK im. Ilyich - 49 days. The lowest - at Interpipe Steel - 8 days.
