Mariupol plant of Metinvest received the right to supply steel to the UK for three years
Metal rolling of the Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works received a "visa" to Foggy Albion, the press service of the Dutch mining and metallurgical holding Metinvest B.V. (Metinvest).
The report says that in 2021 the plant received new certificates of conformity for rolled steel, including a certificate for the right to label products with the UKCA (UK Conformity Assessed) sign, which gives the right to sell Mariupol steel products in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
The audit was conducted by representatives of SGS Ukraine, the world leader in the field of inspection services, examination, testing and certification, accredited by UKAS (the United Kingdom Accreditation Service). During the certification process, the auditors went through the entire product chain - from the supply of raw materials to the receipt of finished rolled products, and also got acquainted with the methods of quality control of raw materials and rolled metal. The document was issued to the enterprise for three years.
Obtaining these certificates will allow the Ilyich Iron and Steel Works to strengthen its position in the global steel products market, meeting the increased requirements of customers for the quality of rolled metal, the press service noted.
