Rinat Akhmetov's energy holding reduced green energy sales in 2021 due to weather conditions
In 2021, DTEK RES reduced the supply of green electricity by 11.8% compared to 2020, to 2.1 billion kWh. All the company's power plants operated normally during the year and ensured the maximum amount of generation in the existing weather conditions.
In particular, output at wind power plants - Botievskaya, Primorskaya (I and II stages), Orlovskaya amounted to 1.478 billion kWh. WPPs produced the least electricity in August - the weather was the least windy, and the largest amount of generation as a result of heavy winds was recorded in December last year.
In turn, solar stations - Trifonovskaya, Nikopolskaya and Pokrovskaya over the past year produced 0.637 billion kWh of electricity. The maximum generation at the SPP was noticed in July, while the least number of sunny days was in December 2021, which accordingly affected the company's SPP supply volumes.
The share of DTEK RES in electricity supply in 2021 amounted to 16.8%, which is 5.8 p.p. less than the previous year.
“The future of the world, in particular, and of Ukraine lies with renewable energy. Its share in the country's energy balance is constantly growing, and I am glad that DTEK RES is making a significant contribution to the decarbonization of the country's economy. This year, we expect that the weather will allow us to produce more clean energy at existing stations. Moreover, at the end of 2022, we plan to produce the first kilowatts of DTEK Tiligulskaya wind farm, which is now in the active phase of construction. That is, we will definitely make our contribution to the decarbonization of Ukraine even more significant,” said Maris Kuniskis, CEO of DTEK RES.
