Ukrzaliznytsia denied reports about the termination of communication with Mariupol
JSC "Ukrzaliznytsia" stated that the information about the termination of the railway communication with Mariupol is not true. The company emphasized that constant and uninterrupted railway communication with settlements in the controlled part of the east of Ukraine is provided in the normal mode.
At the same time, there are restrictions on the movement of trains in the area of Stanytsia Luhanska, where, after heavy shelling from the territory not controlled by Ukraine, the schedule of train No. 6481/6482 Lantratovka - Kondrashovskaya-Novaya - Lantratovka was changed. Since February 22, the train has not run on the Kondrashevskaya-Nova - Novy Aydar section. The rest of the trains run on schedule.
“We urge you to be guided solely by reports from official government sources and filter out provocative information. We also emphasize that Ukrzaliznytsia, as the largest state-owned carrier, ensures the constant and uninterrupted operation of the Ukrainian railway industry 24/7. All railway infrastructure facilities are operating normally, cargo work does not stop even for a minute, station complexes, stations, auxiliary infrastructure also operate as usual, ensuring the comfort and safety of passengers,” the company’s website said in a special statement on Wednesday.
In addition, Ukrzaliznytsia notes that there are no surges in the desire of passengers to leave the eastern region: trains run with the usual population volumes, tickets are available. Lysichansk, Mariupol and Konstantinovka remain the most popular destinations in the east, where Ukrzaliznytsia trains run smoothly and on schedule.
Any possible measures or restrictions will be determined exclusively in cooperation with the authorities, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the National Police, etc.
Ukrzaliznytsia urges all customers and passengers not to panic, to conscientiously comply with all laws and continue to work. For their part, the railway workers guaranteed the provision of all their obligations for the transportation of goods and passengers.
