The Government of Ukraine has extended for six months reduced electricity tariffs for the population
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine has extended the mechanism of special obligations for the supply of households in the electricity market (PSO) for the population in the electricity market for six months - until October 31, 2022. The tariff for household consumers consuming up to 250 kWh per month remains at UAH 1.44 per kWh, for other consumers - UAH 1.68 per kWh.
The relevant resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers dated April 16, 2022 was published on the Government portal on Monday. This government decision was announced on April 15 by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.
“We continue for at least the next six months the effect of the electricity tariff in the amount of 1.44 hryvnia per kilowatt-hour for those who consume less than 250 kilowatt-hours. This is 80% of our citizens,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
The current JI model was calculated for the period from October 1, 2021 to April 30, 2022. According to it, Energoatom and Ukhydroenergo received the right to sell the resource on the market and use their income to compensate universal service providers for tariffs for the population.
