Ukraine showed the Chinese company the investment potential of "clean " energy
Chairman of the State Energy Efficiency Committee Sergey Savchuk with Vice President and representatives of the Chinese energy company China Longyuan Power Group reviewed the legislative framework and investment potential of clean energy in Ukraine and China.
The meeting was another step towards strengthening cooperation between Ukraine and China within the framework of the bilateral Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2017 between the State Energy Efficiency and the National Energy Administration of the PRC.
China Longyuan Power Group is part of the largest Chinese energy company China Energy (226 GW of aggregate capacity) and specializes in projects with the use of renewable energy sources.
By the end of 2018, the total capacity of China Longyuan Power Group facilities reached more than 21,000 MW. More than 18,000 MW of these are wind farms.
Thus, the Chinese company is one of the world's largest wind farm operators. Projects are being implemented in China, Canada, South Africa and other countries of the world.
In addition, the company implements numerous projects in bioenergy, geothermal, solar energy, as well as using the energy of sea waves.
In turn, S. Savchuk drew the attention of the Chinese delegation to the demand for gas replacement projects for Ukrainian communities and outlined the current legislative incentives for investors in this area.
Having discussed the full potential of Ukrainian "clean" energy, the parties agreed to acquaint the Chinese side with potential projects in the above-mentioned areas, as well as with the UAMAP Investment Card (https://uamap.org.ua).
At the same time, the meeting participants drew attention to the need for joint B2B meetings in China and Ukraine, incl. with China Energy, to expand partnerships in various clean energy sectors.
