Metinvest will disclose data on the operation of filters at the Mariupol sinter plant
Metinvest Group has made a decision to gradually transfer to open access the results of the modernized facilities of the Mariupol metallurgical plants. This is stated in the message on the official page of the group to Facebook.
The first will be the data on the average daily dust concentration at the source of emissions after the bag filter for gas cleaning of sintering zones of sintering machines No. 7-9 of the Ilyich Iron and Steel Works (MMKI). The company will transmit this information on a weekly basis for posting on the website of the Donetsk Regional State Administration.
In the near future, similar schedules will be provided to the public for other new and modernized facilities of metallurgical enterprises in Mariupol.
“The company is committed to a constructive dialogue with the public, as well as with city and regional authorities. The enterprises hold meetings of the working group on the fulfillment of public commitments, after which members of the public can visit the modernized facilities of the metallurgical plants in Mariupol on a guided tour, ”the message says.
Metinvest recalled that as part of the modernization of the Ilyich Iron and Steel Works sinter plant in March 2018, the first complex of two-stage cleaning of sinter gases from sintering zones of sintering machines No. 7-9 was built. As the first stage, improved cyclones are installed on each sintering machine, as the second stage, a powerful bag filter is used, which reduces dust emissions by more than 10 times.
In the first quarter of 2020, it is planned to complete the next stage of modernization of the sinter plant. During it, three more bag filters will be installed, covering the sintering zones of all the remaining sintering machines. By the end of the year, the reconstruction project will be completed in full.
Until the completion of the project, all erected complexes of the new gas treatment will operate in the commissioning mode.
