NBU puts into circulation a 1000 hryvnia banknote
According to the Chairman of the National Bank of Ukraine, the key advantages of introducing a new 1000 hryvnia banknote into circulation are increased convenience of settlements and reduced costs for the production and processing of banknotes.
1000 hryvnia replaces part of the banknotes with denominations of 100, 200 and 500 hryvnias in circulation. The banknote contains more than 20 modern anti-counterfeiting elements, including two modern optical-variable elements that allow anyone to independently determine its authenticity.
Turning the banknote in your hands, it is easy to check the SPARK optically variable element in the form of a crystal flower, which should gradually change color from golden to jade and vice versa.
Another innovative element of protection is the "window " protective tape. This purple polymer tape partially embedded in the thickness of the paper contains a digital image of the denomination of the banknote and the trident - the small state emblem of Ukraine. If you change the angle of inclination of the banknote, a kinetic effect is observed - the direction of movement of its background image changes.
"The appearance of a new banknote will reduce the average number of banknotes that have to be carried with you, and will simplify calculations and savings," the NBU said.
In the near future, the National Bank plans to complete the nominal series with improved banknotes of 50 and 200 hryvnia.
At the same time, the National Bank will start preparing to work on the design of the next - even more modern - generation of the hryvnia.
“We want the new generation of the hryvnia not only to pay tribute to the history of Ukraine and the key historical figures who built it, but also to reflect the modern values of Ukrainians,” said the Chairman of the National Bank.
