Denmark Ukraine will provide interest-free loans for renewable energy projects
the participation of the Danish investment Fund Investment Fund For Developing Countries (IFU) in Ukraine is expected to start the programme "Danida Business Finance" which involves providing the Ukrainian side of interest-free loans to Finance infrastructure projects, including in the field of renewable energy and energy efficiency.
this was agreed at negotiations the Chairman of the Saee Serhiy Savchuk and investment Director IFU in Ukraine Oleksiy Parkhomchuk.
in addition, the parties agreed to explore the possibility of participating in the implementation of the IFU Fund green investment, which now is part-Finnish trust Fund.
During the meeting the parties discussed possibilities of participation of the Danish Fund and the companies in the Ukrainian projects of replacement of gas, namely the production of electricity and heat with biomass.
Also, the negotiators noted that the strengthening of cooperation between Ukraine and Denmark in renewable energy is helped by the Ukrainian-Danish energy center (UDEC). It is a reliable partner of Saee in the development of legislative initiatives, incentives and the involvement of the Danish experience in this field.
In turn, Chairman of the Agency noted Alexey Parkhomchuk prospects of bioenergy in Ukraine and relevance of the projects to replace gas.
Over the past few years, IFU, together with the EBRD and other international partners have co-financed many projects in clean energy with a total capacity of 400 MW in Ukraine.
