The IMF will continue talks on new loans to Ukraine in the coming weeks

the international monetary Fund said Saturday that it will continue negotiations with Ukraine on a new program of support in the coming weeks after significant progress in talks with Kiev.

the IMF Mission was in Ukraine during the week in negotiations between Kiev and the Fund to replace the standby arrangement by 3.9 billion US dollars, which expires in January.

", IMF Staff held constructive and productive discussions with the Ukrainian authorities and gave them high marks for the significant progress made over the last few months in promotion of reforms and the continuation of reasonable economic policy," - said in a statement.

Ukraine wants to make a deal with the IMF worth about 5-6 billion US dollars for three years to support its economy and signaling to investors that the new government of President Vladimir Zelensky committed to reform.
