Project "energy Bridge "EU-Ukraine" provides for disconnection from the grid of Ukraine of the power unit №2 Khmelnitsky nuclear power plant with a capacity of 1 000 MW and the reorientation of its work on the export of electricity to Poland (substation "Rzeszow") and Hungary (substation "Albertirsa"). Withdrawn from the grid power is planned to be offset by an increase of 5-10% of capacity at other nuclear power plants of Ukraine due to the introduction of technologies line of companies, including the American engineering company Westinghouse.
Project "energy Bridge "EU-Ukraine" provides for expansion of bandwidth Islands "burshtynska TPP" (the inclusion of Khmelnitsky 2, substation 750/330 kV "Western" and interstate lines 750 kV "at the NPP – substation "Rzeszow" (Poland). The total cost of the project is 243,5 million euros. To participate in the project of the Polish company Polenergia International S. àr.l. formed a consortium with Westinghouse Electric Sweden AB, EDF Trading Limited (UK).
