The Ministry of energy of Ukraine told why fired the President of NNEGC "Energoatom"

Yesterday, November 27, 2019, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine at its meeting released President NAEK "Energoatom" Yury Nedashkovsky from his post.

the Department of energy and environmental protection said that the competition for the position of President of NNEGC "Energoatom" will be announced in the near future.

"Stress, the release of Yuri Nedashkovsky will not affect the operation of the nuclear power plants of Ukraine: everyone will work in a regular mode", - stated in message the press service of the Ministry.

In Minamaneho explained why he was fired the head of the nuclear branch of Ukraine.

Among other things, Yuri Nedashkovsky was accused of inefficient management of the industry, the suspicion of embezzlement of public funds, mismanagement in procurement, the violation of the schedules of carrying out capital and current repairs of nuclear power plants, failure to meet financial plans and the increased cost of servicing the loans.

Yuriy Nedashkovsky headed Energoatom since March 2014. Prior to that, he was also in charge of Energoatom from February 2005 to October 2006, and then again from June 2008 to August 2012.

State enterprise "national nuclear energy generating company "Energoatom" was established in October 1996. The company operates four operating nuclear power plants of Ukraine, which operates 15 nuclear power units.

Energoatom provides about 55% of Ukraine's needs for electricity in autumn-winter period, this figure reaches 70%. Ukraine ranks eighth in the world in terms of installed nuclear capacity.
