The European Union has allocated 3.2 billion euros to Finance the production of batteries

the European Commission has identified the production of batteries as a strategic value chain where the EU needs to increase investment and innovation in the context of the reinforced industrial policy aimed at creating an integrated, sustainable and competitive industrial base. This is stated in the message on the official website of the EC.

the European Commission adopted in accordance with the rules of state aid, the EU's funding programme for innovative development of new batteries Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Poland and Sweden 3.2 billion euros to Finance this project, which is expected to attract an additional EUR 5 billion in private investment.

the project will involve 17 direct participants, mostly representatives of industry, including small and medium enterprises, some of which operate in more than one member state.

At the end of 2017, the Commission established a "European battery Alliance" with interested member States and industry stakeholders, and in may 2018 adopted a Strategic plan for action in the field of batteries.
