White house: trade agreement between China and the U.S. will be signed in January
Washington and Beijing will sign their new trade agreement next month, said on Tuesday, 31 December, chief White house adviser.
Both parties earlier this month announced the conclusion of the first phase of the agreement after almost two years of trading confrontation which imposed increased tariffs on steel and other goods, including intangible assets.
In Washington said that the agreement is still not made public, as required in the legal verification.
"We will be able to sign him in January," said Peter Navarro, the head of the office of the White house on trade and production. "We're just waiting for the Chinese translation of the agreement in 86 pages".
news of the deal and the escalation of the trade conflict led to a rally on wall street this month.
the U.S. and China said that the agreement provides for the protection of intellectual property, mutual deliveries of food and agricultural goods, financial services and currency exchange, as well as a new provision on settlement of disputes.
U.S. officials said that at this time both parties had reached an understanding.
