Metallurgists of Ukraine require the government to withdraw the draft law "On labour"

As described on Saturday in the Federation of trade unions of Ukraine, representatives of 80 thousand workers of metallurgical and mining industry of Ukraine, Krivoy Rog in open letter expressed their protest against the new draft law of Ukraine "On labor" № 2708 and demand that the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine Express his opinion of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for negotiations with the trade unions.

In the opinion of the signatories of the appeal, chairmen of trade Union committees AT PMGU PJSC "ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih", PMGO "Northern GOK", PMGO JSC "KZhRK" BY PMGU JSC "Central GOK", PMGO JSC "southern mining", IN PMGO PJSC "Ingulets GOK", PMGO LLC "Metinvest CRMS" BY PMGU private JSC "Sukha Balka", Krivoy Rog city Committee of PMGW, the draft law "On labour" significantly narrows the social rights of employees , violated article 22 of the Constitution of Ukraine, which States that when adopting new laws or amending existing laws shall not be diminished content and scope of existing rights and freedoms.

Also draws the government's attention to the fact that the draft law "On labour", proposed by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine violates not only national legislation, but also fundamental international labour standards, specifically repeals laws, which until 1991 was ratified 38 conventions of the International organization for labor.

16 Jan 2020 convened the all-Ukrainian trade Union Assembly on the constitutional protection of labour and socio-economic rights of workers and trade Union activities. It will be attended by the heads of all-Ukrainian trade unions and local trade Union Board members of the FPA, the Chairpersons of primary trade Union organizations, trade unions from all regions of Ukraine.

To the Ukrainian authorities also asked the Secretary-General of the International trade Union Confederation (ITUC) Sharan burrow and the General Secretary of the European trade Union Confederation (ETUC) and the pan-European Council of trade unions (BERR) Luca Vicentin, who said that the 27 December 2019 by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine the draft law "On labour", threatens to deprive workers of legal protection, the trade unions of the ability to protect them.
