USCC predicts significant growth in the construction and consumption of metal structures in Ukraine
the Ukrainian Steel Construction Center (USCC) forecasts at the end of 2020, the growth of construction by 10-15%. The Association also expected the consumption of steel in 2020 will be about 144 thousand tons versus 135 tons in 2019. The USCC announced that in 2019, continued growth in consumption of metal, which started in 2016.
USCC notes that 2019 was the fourth consecutive year in which the construction remains the leader in growth rates among the economic activities. This was facilitated by government policies aimed at improving transport infrastructure and active investment activity of enterprises. As a consequence, the growth of volume of construction works in 2019 26% to 117 billion USD.
According to market participants, it is expected that in 2020 will continue the increase in the cost of housing construction, but it will not exceed 10%. However, given the decline in demand, a significant growth of housing costs in 2020 will not happen.
In the whole construction segment is expected to continue the positive momentum, which will contribute to the main drivers of growth - carry out works on the objects of transport infrastructure and modernization of the manufacturing sector.
