Ukraine has reduced exports of pig iron in real terms by 3.3%
Ukraine in January-February of the current year has reduced the export of pig iron in real terms by 3.3% compared to the same period last year - up to 507,476 thousand tons. According to statistics released by the State customs service (GTS), for a specified period the export of cast iron in monetary terms decreased by 8.1% to $153,162 million While exports were primarily to China (38,52% of the supply in monetary terms), the USA (by 35.11%) and Turkey (9,49). In the Jan-Feb-2020 Ukraine imported 100 ton of similar products in the amount of $71 million (in January-February-2019 – 151 thousand tons for $103 thousand) Imports were from Russia (57,75%) and Germany 42.25 mln% of total supply in monetary terms. As reported, Ukraine in 2019, reduced the export of pig iron in real terms of 14.2% compared to the year 2018 - up to 2 million 579,848 thousand tons, in money terms - by 23.8%, to $801,962 million While the exports were mainly to USA (58,73% of deliveries in money terms), Italy (12,43%) and Turkey (10,27%). In 2019, Ukraine imported 1,076 thousand tons of iron at $645 thousand, whereas in 2018 1,375 thousand tons at $796 thousand Imports were from Russia (76,90% of supplies in value terms), Germany (20,93%) and Poland (2,17%).
