Mauro Longobardo: "ArcelorMittal Krivoy Rog" is committed to keep falling production volumes

steel Production in the first quarter of 2020 at a metallurgical plant "ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih" has decreased compared to the same period last year by 7.2% from 1.4 to 1.3 million tons. Iron smelting declined in the reporting period to the same 7.2% to 1.3 million tonnes, while production of rolled steel – by 8% to 1.2 million tons.

"In a pandemic COVID-19 we strive to maintain production, despite the difficulties faced by business around the world in late February and March of this year. Quarantine restrictions in different countries affected the operation of our suppliers and partners, many of whom now work on a reduced rpm. In addition, our clients are also reviewing their orders for steel, and we, for our part, are forced to change logistic scheme. However, even with the strongest circumstances of force majeure, the level of production of main kinds of products of "Arcelor Mittal Krivoy Rog" in the first quarter were slightly below the business plan and figures for the same period last year", - commented on the results of the company Mauro Longobardo, CEO of "ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih".

He noted that in a pandemic the company continues to accumulate all the power, to ensure stable production process, the safety of their workers, the implementation of investment projects and modernization of facilities.
