Zaporizhstal installed additional online monitoring of rolled products quality
Zaporizhstal is systematically working to improve the quality of its products. For this purpose, video surveillance has been installed in the thin sheet hot rolling shop, which allows online monitoring of the quality of coil winding and avoiding product rejects.
“Product quality management is the same continuous process as its production. It is important that our products continue to be in demand by consumers, therefore we are constantly improving the existing quality control system, "says the General Director of Zaporizhstal Alexander Mironenko.
According to the ongoing program to improve the quality of products, on coilers No. 1 and No. 2 of NTLS-1680 of the hot rolling shop for thin sheets, cameras are additionally installed, constantly monitoring the coiling process in real time. This allows mill operators to quickly correct deviations, reducing the possibility of wrap and imprint defects. The expected effect is a 20% reduction in the formation of these defects in the total volume of finished products.
It should be noted that special working groups have been created at Zaporizhstal to identify and eliminate top defects in rolled metal products. Each group in its own direction monitors the causes of defects - metallurgical, rolling, associated with the operation of equipment. After a thorough analysis of the causes of the formation of defects, laboratory and industrial tests are carried out, and then practical measures are introduced to improve product quality and eliminate defects.
In 2019, Zaporizhstal successfully passed the second supervisory audit of the Integrated Management System for compliance with the requirements of international quality management standards ISO 9001: 2015.
