Interim: the Situation in the Ukrainian energy market is contrary to common sense
According to GP Operator "Energorynok" as of today the cost of electricity in Ukraine is almost two times higher than the rates that apply in the countries of Eastern Europe: Poland, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia.
"In the last days of April, the rates increased by a record 38%, indicating a systemic action by the government to a conscious increase in the cost of electricity for the benefit of private monopoly, not to support the whole Ukrainian industry", - the Director for economy and Finance of steel company Interpipe Denis Morozov.
the Company addressed to the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky with a request to deal with the situation on the energy market.
According to the letter, which was signed by more than 4 thousand employees of Interim, in recent months the Cabinet and the national Commission for regulation of energy and komuslug (NKREKU) systematically make decisions to the higher prices of electricity for industrial consumers.
According to Interpipe, the recent decision of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine suggests that may in the energy market will begin uncontrolled and unjustified increase in electricity prices. We are talking about what the Government decided "Energoatom" at the end of April - beginning of may 2020 will completely stop three nuclear unit (№6 of Zaporizhzhya NPP, №3 Rivne NPP and unit 2 of Zaporizhzhya NPP) with a total capacity of 3,000 MW/h, and also reduce the production of electricity by 5 units.
"the Increase in electricity tariffs takes away from the industry funds for salaries and investment in favor of the energy monopoly. We will be forced to lay off workers and close shop. This will lead to a sharp decline in tax deductions and the elimination of jobs and, consequently, will cause social tensions in the region", says frost.
