The tax claims to metallurgists for transactions with scrap metal is absurd – the President "Ukrmetallurgprom"
Tax claims, as well as additional tax liabilities and penalties that the State tax service of Ukraine puts in the metallurgical enterprises, working "in white", are absurd.
This opinion was expressed by President of Association of Enterprises "Ukrmetallurgprom" Alexander Kalenkov. "This situation occurs not for the first time. Over the last 5-7 years, the IRS puts these absurd claims to metallurgical companies. In them there is no economic component, nor common sense. Know all this and I am sure that in the State tax service understand the absurdity of their claims".
Alexander Kalenkov also noted that the technological process of metallurgical enterprises is that without scrap it is impossible to smelt steel. "Not from nothing to something, but similar claims of tax raises for all metal companies", — he stressed.
According to him, all these claims metallurgists successfully challenged in the courts, but they have to divert significant human and time resources on these lawsuits. "In Ukraine the situation created by the state itself, when the grass-roots collection of scrap metal is in the shade, but the tax inspection is not going into the beginning of a chain, and by large companies. Clearly, to the "white" companies come easier, but they have no relation to possible abuses at the grassroots level, collecting scrap", — said Oleksandr Kalenkov, urging the Verkhovna Rada to adopt the second reading of the bill to whitewash the scrap market.
the President "Ukrmetallurgprom" reminded that last year the steel industry of Ukraine suffered losses of over 30 billion hryvnia. "What is happening in the world with the coronavirus, has worsened the position of metallurgists. In fact, the Steelworkers are fighting for every day work, to work the factories so that people don't lose their jobs, for every dollar of foreign exchange into the country in order not to fail the exchange rate for each national currency revenues. I think it is absolutely criminal to push a deliberately absurd demands billions of hryvnia. But the tax still comes, so to call it differently than the state racket I can not", — stated Oleksandr Kalenkov.
