Metinvest invests in Avdiivka coke plant 280 million hryvnia
Dutch mining and metallurgical holding Metinvest B.V. (The SCM) Rinat Akhmetov and Vadim Novinsky is investing in the upgrading of coke chemical equipment plant in Avdiivka 280 million. About it reports the company on his Facebook page.
the Company will repair the furnaces, coke oven batteries Nos. 5, 6, 7 and 8. This year it is planned to upgrade 70 of the coking chambers. Their restoration will increase production of blast furnace coke per 1000 tons per day.
the Fighting in the Donetsk region negatively affected the production capacity of the enterprise, as the plant is close to a zone of differentiation. Due to interruptions in power supply enterprise fifteen times stopped, the temperature fell in the coke ovens. The result of the refractory masonry of coking boxes collapsed, and this directly affected the work of the main shops.
To restore the production process from the beginning of 2020 have already been repaired 27 coking chambers. The repair is carried out from two sides of the coke oven battery without shutting down production. This approach allowed not only to speed up recovery time but also to provide jobs for an additional 100 specialists contractors.
Avdiivka coke plant (PJSC "Avdiivka coke") – Europe's largest high-tech coking plant. Covers an area of over 340 hectares, has 84 kilometres of internal railway sidings.
