At the sinter plant of the Ilyich Iron and Steel Works, final work on equipment debugging has begun
Despite the pandemic, Metinvest Group continued to carry out a key environmental project: construction and installation work to install complexes for a new two-stage purification of sinter gases and sintering zones for 12 sintering machines in the sintering shop at Ilyich Steel Plant.
At the first stage - coarse dust removal using modern Italian cyclones HURRICLONE. The second stage is the post-treatment of gas from dust and sulfur compounds in powerful bag filters, which reduce dust emissions by more than ten times.
The installation of the software was scheduled for the first quarter of this year, but due to the coronavirus pandemic, Italian specialists left the country in early spring, without installing all the equipment necessary for further debugging.
To date, thanks to the relaxation of quarantine measures, Italian specialists have been able to begin the completion of the project. Andrea Fontolan, customer service engineer at TERMOKIMIK CORPORATION S.p.A, noted that it remains to install the software, check the conformity of the installation with the technical documentation and carry out commissioning, during which possible problems with the equipment operation can be eliminated.
